hi i’m Carrie LaChapelle Craft I am the owner of Hatched at Home. I have practiced midwifery in Upstate, SC for over 17 years. I began attending births over 20 years ago as a doula before graduating from the South Carolina School of Midwifery. I am licensed by the State of South Carolina and by (NARM), the National Association of Registered Midwives. I am a certified preceptor for students of midwifery. I completed the EMT-Intermediate program in Emergency Medicine (EMS) at Greenville Technical College, as well as being trained as a Newborn Specialist from the Newborn Training Academy.
I have served as a chapter leader for Upstate BirthNetwork all while being the mother to six children of my own.

I’m a military wife and mom of 4 littles. I had the privilege of receiving midwifery care for all of my pregnancies and births - two in the hospital and two at home. I met Carrie when seeking midwifery care for my third pregnancy and now I get to midwife WITH my own midwife… talk about a dream come true!
Prior to earning my Certified Professional Midwife credentials and South Carolina Midwifery License in early 2023, I worked as as an EMT, a childbirth educator and a doula for 7 years. During 4 years as a midwife apprentice, I attended over 150 births and was the primary midwife at 65. At Hatched, we maintain knowledge and skills for neonatal resuscitation, birth emergencies (including hemorrhage, breech birth shoulder dystocia, etc), and transfer situations.
I have a deep passion for caring for women holistically - physically, mentally, and emotionally. You’re a whole person, not just a baby grower, and we want to care for all aspects of you.
